“The U.S. could discretely fund mainstream Salafi figures like Madkhali who are effective in siphoning off support from jihadis and who do not advocate violence (e.g. by paying for publications, lectures, new schools).” – Jarret Brachman and Will McCants, 2006.
All praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of creation; and the end is for the muttaqin. I bear witness that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah – alone with no partner attributed to Him – the rightful and true King. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His messenger, the imam of the first and last. As for what follows:
Brothers and sisters in Islam: as-salamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. May Allah (subhanahu) protect you all and guide your every move.
Know, may Allah protect you, that Islam – which today many people claim – is to worship Allah alone, making the din purely for Him, as He (ta’ala) said, “And I did not create the jinn and men except that they should worship Me.” So once you know that Allah created you and I for His worship (‘ibadah), then, you should also know that ‘ibadah is not truly called ‘ibadah unless it is accompanied with tawhid, just as salah is not salah unless it is accompanied with purification. And know, may Allah guide us to His obedience, that if shirk were to enter into ‘ibadah then it would nullify it – just like if impurity enters upon one’s status of purification it becomes nullified – and would be the means for which that person to remain in Hell, as He (ta’ala) said, “Verily, Allah does not forgive that partners should be associated with Him (i.e. shirk), but He forgives what He wills from what is less than that.”
The matter is of utmost importance that only one Allah wants to guide will comprehend – may Allah make us from them. Thus one of the most crucial matters is to know shirk so as to stay away from it and to know tawhid so as to cling to it. And this is known through sincere reading of the Quran and Sunnah, with the help of the scholars’ works. It is not known by blindly following men. So strive to know the truth, for only then will you know its people, by Allah’s permission.
Seeing the abundance of material speaking on Islam (most of it garbage and deviance from the truth) it is essential to connect the people of Islam with the people of knowledge of Islam: the ‘ulama. And what is meant by ‘ulama here are those who speak the truth and are slandered and sidelined for that, not the scholars of governments or ones promoted by Western crusaders who conceal aspects of the truth. Authentic and pure knowledge is essential and the greatest of those knowledges is tawhid. For that reason and the one above, this blog serves as a modest (continuous, in sha Allah) collection of some works of the ‘ulama that have been translated into English and is geared more towards tawhid and its branches, and matters that are at the core of controversy, apart from fiqhi matters which are open to a wide range of opinions.
May Allah send salah and salam upon our beloved Muhammad, his family, and his companions.
